The tiling part of the project has been successfully completed by members of the Thunderbird Community. We will be grouting tomorrow and then the project will be ready to install. Stay connected to hear the details of the installation and celebration to follow!  

Mosaic update

Summer workshops July 5, 12, 19, 26

It's not too late to participate in the mosaic project!!  Join your neighbours in these freeworkshops where we will show you how to work with mosaics.  No prior experience in art is required.  This is a rare opportunity to help create a large glass mosaic mural that will be installed permanently inside the community centre in the main stairwell.

First and Second Panel done

Thanks to all members of the community who participated in the completion of the first and second panel.  Invite friends and relatives to come and help with the other panels.  Some of the participants described the workshops as fun, creative and relaxing!

The Beginning of the Project

On Tuesday April 19th, the project began.  After utilizing the ideas from the community to sketch the design, we started gluing on the tiles for the first 2 panels.  Children from the community helped out with sorting tiles, gluing the border, leaves and part of the tree trunk.  It has been an amazing experience to see everyone become involved.  Come and join us!
